Using Ebooks and Audiobooks on Kindle, Kobo and Audiobookshelf
How Omega Books fits into common reading and listening workflows, including browser reading, e-reader delivery and audiobook apps.
Choose a reading or listening workflow
Omega Books includes ebooks and audiobooks, but the best app depends on the format and device. You can read in a browser, send compatible ebooks to a Kindle or Kobo, and listen through an Audiobookshelf-compatible app.
Sending ebooks to an e-reader
Use the Send-to-Kindle or Send-to-Kobo option shown in the library for a compatible title. Confirm the destination account or device before sending, then allow time for the reader to sync.
- Keep the e-reader online while it synchronizes
- Check the library view as well as the device home screen
- If delivery fails, confirm the destination email or account link
- Use browser reading as a quick fallback while troubleshooting delivery
Listening with Audiobookshelf
Install an Audiobookshelf-compatible client, add the server address from your account details, and sign in with the provided credentials. Playback progress can then follow your account across supported devices.
- Download chapters in the app before travel when the client supports it
- Let the app finish syncing progress before switching devices
- Use bookmarks for long books instead of relying only on chapter position
Finding titles and checking editions
Search by title, author or narrator, and try alternate spellings or editions when needed. Availability varies by title, language, edition and format.
Omega Books is available by itself and is also included in the Ultimate Bundle.
Keep each device workflow simple
Use one primary delivery method for each device. Browser reading is useful for quick access, e-reader delivery is better for distraction-free reading, and an Audiobookshelf-compatible app is designed for long-form listening with progress tracking.
When a title appears twice, check the author, edition, language and file format before opening or sending it. Different editions can have different pagination, narration or metadata even when the cover and title look similar.
- Sync the device before leaving a reliable network
- Open a delivered ebook once to confirm it is available offline
- Download audiobook chapters before travel when the app supports it
- Remove old device access when replacing or selling hardware
Troubleshoot delivery before repeating a request
If an ebook does not appear, confirm the destination account, sync the device manually and check its library filters. Repeatedly sending the same title can create duplicate entries without resolving an account-link issue. For audiobook problems, include the app version, device and title in a support request without sharing your password.
